Splash Pad

I took the kids to the splash pad at Fischer Park over the weekend. The park first opened when I was pregnant with Addison, and we were excited about taking the kids there frequently since we lived within a mile or so of the park. A few months later we moved to our current house and haven't been back to the park since. With the water spraying randomly and kids running everywhere, Addison was a little hesitant to play, but soon warmed up after Greyson showed her around. Greyson  met a new friend because they bonded over wearing the same swim shirt. Greyson's new friend also had a little sister, so they all played together for a while. Afterwards, we coincidentally saw the same family eating at Chick-fil-A, so they played some more before parting ways.

BTV'18 - Cedar Creek Lake Family Photos

Each year during our family lake trip, we take a family photo. The steps on the back porch were a perfect spot for this year's photo and we managed to bribe the kids with the goodie bags Nana brought just long enough to get a few good shots. Despite Addison's expression in the large group shot, I promise she was having a good time! :)

BTV'18 at Cedar Creek Lake

On June 21-24, we traveled to Cedar Creek Lake (southeast of Dallas) for our annual Butler Family Lake Trip, BTV'18. The rental we stayed in was right on the water with it's own boat dock. There were plenty of bedrooms for everyone, a big back porch and fenced backyard, which was nice to have with all the little ones running around! Papa and Brad both brought their boats, so there was plenty of fishing and tube rides throughout the stay. The kids had so much fun playing together - swimming, playing basketball toss in the huge garage, playing games that Nana brought, zip-lining in the backyard and just running around! Addison was pretty clingy in the water, but both she and Greyson had fun swimming. Even I went out for a boatride (with some Dramamine, of course!). Another memorable lake trip in the books! Til next year, Butlers!

Swimming, but not letting go of Daddy!
The Volkers brought Greyson an early birthday present.

The zip line was a big hit with all the kids!
And a workout for all the adults!
Cuties!

Out for another spin on the tube.

Father's Day

Blake kicked off Father's Day at the kiddos' daycare with Donuts with Dad on Friday. On Father's Day, we stopped for more donuts on the way to church. In addition to a few new fishing shirts and a new Case pocket knife, there were also several handcrafted gifts from the kids!

Boys Fishing Trip / Girls' Weekend

Blake took Greyson to Rockwall to go fishing with Papa over the weekend. They had a fun 'Boys Only' weekend and Greyson got to go out on the boat with Daddy and Papa, and then have some fun with Nana while Daddy and Papa took a longer trip to a lake a little farther away. Blake brought some of the fish they caught back home and cooked it on Sunday. As you can see from the pictures, it was kid approved!!

While the boys were away, Addie Sue and I had a fun girls weekend. We went to Target, rode bikes and played Super Heroes, had lunch at Wendy's with Nannie and had the TV and remote ALL to ourselves! On the way home from church on Sunday, we stopped and had lunch with the Moores and Nannie & Guppy for Lilly and Hallie's annual T Bar M camp send-off!
